Space

Whooo...what a busy time of year it is!!  I love this time of year.  There's so many fun things going on, students are excited, it has been so rewarding to see them grow, and SUMMER IS NEAR!

We have been learning about "What's in the Sky?"  We begin our unit by doing a KWL chart (What we know, what we want to know, and what we have learned) and creating a sky mobile.  They include, sun, star, moon, cloud, and rainbow.

We read the story Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, I'm off to the Moon.  We then created a rocket ship book to remember the beginning, middle, and end of the story.

Another fun project we do is to create this fun rocket ship and learn the poem about going Mars.  We love to have them hanging up so we can see all of our pictures!

We also learned about the moon and the moon phases.  This week we will be doing some rain, weather, and cloud activities.

REMEMBER only 13 days left of school and we have a lot of great things coming up!  It is SO important that students are getting enough rest!!

Carnival

Well, I have to say I am much relieved that the Carnival is over and was successful again!  It is a VERY VERY big event to plan, but is super rewarding once it is over!  It is a such a great feeling to see all the wonderful families come out and enjoy the evening.  Everyone is able to afford the event as the cost is very low!  Families enjoyed games, food, prizes, and fun.

This was the biggest Carnival we have had, as we sold over 12,000 tickets!  This year we were able to have three bounce houses and the fire station doing a water game outside!  We also had over 30 games!

Of course, I was unable to get an pictures during the actual event because I was busy running around making sure all event were covered.  Here a few pictures from the games, before it started!

Next Post:  What's in the Sky!  We are really pumped about learing  about space and the sky!!  Until next time...

Happy Easter!

We did some great activities to get us ready for Easter!

We read The Tale of Peter Rabbit and watched it on youtube!

These are our Peter Rabbits!

We colored Easter Egg.  We had a great time and managed not to get too much dye on ourselves!

The finished product!
We also made Easter baskets to take our eggs home in (I didn't get a picture).  I hope everyone is having a great 6 day break!  I know I am enjoying the break catching up with friends, family, working on grad school, and trying to prepare for the Carnival.  Only 4 days until the Carnival!  I hope to see all of your there! :)
